OUR PILLARS
Sisterhood
Sisterhood is our first pillar and is central to our success as a sorority. We emphasize the importance of getting to know each other deeply and providing mutual support for one another. As a smaller sorority, we get to know all the members better and have close bonds with all the sisters. Many alumnae also come visit us frequently and remain involved, showing that sisterhood is a lifelong value for us. Some sisterhood traditions at our chapter include the Thanksgiving Potluck, Secret Santa, and biannual sisterhood photoshoots.
Service
Our second pillar, service, is something that we are actively involved in on and off campus. We understand our responsibility to contribute our time for the good of the community and individuals. We are collectively dedicated to uplifting causes and groups that are underserviced. Some places we have volunteered before are the National Cherry Blossom Festival, DC's Light the Night, various 5K races, and more. We have received service awards from our university and our national leadership.
Cultural Diversity
Our third pillar is cultural diversity, and we have sisters from all over the world, of different ethnicities and nationalities. We are an Asian interest, but NOT Asian-exclusive sorority. We aim to explore and learn about other cultures, which we do by attending other cultural events on campus. We also put on our own events centered around various cultural topics, including Pan-Asian culture, current events, and gender and sexuality. Cultural awareness is a goal of ours in all aspects of our operation, and we work to be as inclusive and equitable as possible.
